Interactive Voice Response or IVR Systems give customers the ability to call in to your system, enter in their information, and receive information back through the phone system. In the advanced version, the Caller ID of the customer is checked against the database and immediately proceeds to the next step. If the caller ID is not recognized, or multiple entries are attributed to that caller ID, the system will back up and ask for specific information.
Other security protection options are available like PIN numbers or Social Security Numbers which can be requested of the caller to protect against identity theft.
